An exploration of the historical, political and cultural contexts out of which the American Underground Railroad and Abolitionists Movements emerged with emphasis on the important role the state of Michigan played in these movements due to its geographical proximity of Canada. Fulfills Cultures - U.S. Diversity. Offered spring/summer semester. Prerequisite: Junior standing.
