PHY 231 - Principles of Physics II


The second course in a two-semester sequence for students of science and engineering, with a laboratory. Topics include thermodynamics, Coulomb’s law, electric fields and potential energy, Gauss’s law, circuits, electrical waves and oscillations, Maxwell’s equations, and optics. Offered fall, winter and spring/summer semesters. Prerequisites: PHY 230 and MTH 202.
